At Shadey Attachments, we never wanted to create a throwaway gadget. From the very beginning, the aim was to develop a practical, well-engineered phone and tablet sun shade that feels good to use, packs easily and becomes one of those holiday accessories you reach for again and again.

Quality Starts With Good Design

We partnered with Simple Design Works, an experienced product design company that helped transform our early concept into professional technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.

Every element of Shadey had to have a purpose.

The fan-shaped shade needed to provide useful coverage without becoming bulky. The product needed to fold down neatly for travel. The attachment system had to be simple and practical. And the overall design needed to feel like something you’d actually want to take on holiday with you.

That attention to detail became the foundation of the finished Shadey.

Finding the Right Manufacturing Partner

Once the design was ready, the next challenge was finding a manufacturer capable of producing Shadey to the standard we wanted.

That search took us all the way to China, where we met potential manufacturers face-to-face and visited their facilities.

For us, choosing a manufacturing partner wasn’t simply about finding the lowest price.

We wanted a company that understood the importance of consistent production, careful manufacturing and reliable workmanship, while also sharing values we felt comfortable putting behind the Shadey brand.
